I want to lift the curtain on some of those little Easter Eggs you may have missed in the series as I write, but that I think deserve a special mention.  

There is a huge amount of research involved in writing the Avon Calling series. Fashion, Gangsters, Weapons and WW2 are my usual topics, along with much more. This means that in the books, you’ll find endless background references (like hidden Easter eggs) to real historical events, objects and famous people that mostly go unnoticed (which means I’m doing a good job of world-building!) but enhance the authenticity of the story and 1940’s era-feel. I’m about to start an Easter egg hunt for you. 

Keep your eyes posted on these updates – every so often I’ll post info about an ‘Easter Egg’ so that when you read the series, you’ll have that bit more background on the scene your reading. Let me know what you think of them, and tell me if there’s something specific you want to know about, why I wrote it, what inspired it, the history of the scene, object etc – I’m happy to oblige and fill in all the backstory for you!
